NEXT REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE SANDPOINT FIBERARTS GUILD – Tuesday, November 15, 2011

The meeting will be held at the Arts Alliance located at 518 Oak Street (red building at corner of Oak and 6th Streets) in Sandpoint. Informal socializing begins at 6:00 PM, and he evening's program - the annual holiday ornament exhnage!!! – follows about 6:30 PM.

Bring an ornament handmade by YOU wrapped or bagged so it's a surprise. We'll play some sort of trading game, and you'll go home with a new decoration for your tree!

This month snacks will be provided by:
Savory treat - Julie H.
Something sweet - Sharon (or maybe Sharon traded months with Vicki . . .)
Beverages - Barbi

After the meeting everyone is invited to stay as long as they like to knit or spin or just visit!

 

WEAVING STUDY GROUP

No weaving group meeting in November. The next meeting is Thursday, December 8 at Vicki's home in Sagle. The study group meets at a different location each month, including various weavers' homes and studios. Email Loriefor more information or the location of this month's meeting.

KNITTING STUDY GROUP

The Sandpoint Fiber Arts Knitting Study Group meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. The next meeting is Tuesday December t the Arts Alliance located at 518 Oak Street (red building at corner of Oak and 6th Streets) in Sandpoint. The group also meets on an ongoing basis “virtually” on the web via a members-only web site.

OPEN HANDSPINNING SESSIONS MOST THURSDAY AFTERNOONS

Handspinners meet Thursday afternoons from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at Blue Flag Handweaving Studio, 214-B Cedar Street in Sandpoint. These sessions are free and open to anyone who spins or who would like to learn more about the craft. Also feel free to bring knitting, crochet, carding or other projects to work on.

Although formal instruction is not available at these sessions, there are always experienced spinners on hand to answer questions, demonstrate techniques and help with troubleshooting. Spinners must provide their own fiber, spinning wheels or spindles, and other tools.

Blue Flag will be closed for a long Thanksgiving holiday and there will be no open spinning on Nov. 17 or Nov. 25. Spinning will resume on Dec. 1
